A TL100 Centennial Project
In October 2024, TLBP launched the first phase of its TL100 Project, a banner campaign-driven streetscape initiative, with the installation of 11 modern trash and recycling receptacles along Riverside Drive, funded by the 2023 Toluca Lake Centennial Banner Campaign. Spearheaded by TLBP, this effort replaced outdated cement cans with sleek bins promoting sustainable waste management, while creatively repurposing the old receptacles into community planters scattered throughout the district. The campaign, which saw widespread support from residents and businesses sponsoring banners across 2.5 miles, underscores the community’s commitment to enhancing Toluca Lake’s environment, aesthetics, and walkability, setting the stage for a cleaner, greener future through collaborative, volunteer-led action.
Scope
TL100 Project includes the removal of 13 outdated, damaged 20-year-old concrete trash receptacles along Riverside Drive, replaced with 11 modern trash and recycling receptacles from Forms + Surfaces. This initiative aligns with the community-approved Riverside Drive Streetscape Plan, enhancing waste management and supporting the area's sustainability and aesthetic goals.
